Home

It's been a while since I posted... Four weeks later I'm back in Finland; back home. I've been caught in a torrent of emotions ranging from sadness to happiness to fear. I'm sad to be apart from my love again; I'm happy to be home; I'm afraid of the coming autumn and the changes in my life. I hope all goes well.

Today however, my first day home, was wonderful. I had breakfast in the quiet of noon, surrounded by familiar things; my 1973 copy of Moomin Midwinter, my blue teapot with (albeit fake) flowers and Scandinavian bread and juice. I cannot tell you how much I missed familiar things and the beauty of my home.

I'm excited about autumn. It's still warm and sunny here but I already wore a sweater and a scarf this evening on my walk. I bought some sweaters today actually, to get in my autumn mood. You can see one of them in the photos.

Through a maze

Walking through this beautiful maze was an ethereal experience. The light streaming through the branches, casting spots of light on the path... The long corridors of trees holding us in what felt like a separate world.

Home again

I travelled all Monday; flew across the Baltic Sea to be in the arms of my love again. My fiancé and I live in different countries and have a chance to see each other a few times a year. This time we were apart for about 4 months. It was difficult but I'm finally here, in my other home with the one that is my heart's home.

Although our place is a small attic apartment, it's cozy, especially with all the plants and dried flowers. It's good to be back here and have time for peace, rest and love.
